Questions as to whether or not student affairs is a profession have been around for some time. Questions continue today with concerns about preparation and necessary skills to be an effective administrator in student affairs and higher education. This presentation will include a diverse panel of faculty and administrators in graduate preparation and student affairs. Each will represent a different view regarding the status to which student affairs meets interdependent elements of what constitutes a profession from a sociological perspective.
