It's a brave new world and technology is here to stay. Although student affairs professionals must keep up with technological advances in order to meet contemporary student needs, keeping student learning as the focal point of the academy necessitates delving into "unplugged space." College students spend an inordinate amount of time "plugged in" consuming some type of media. How can we engage our students in meaningful ways that allow for reflection in a world full of alluring distractions? Presenters will explore the impact of technology consumption and how using the outdoors as a medium can improve attention and thus, create opportunities for establishing meaning and purpose.
